ScholarshipsSHINE: Seattle's Hub for Industry-driven Nanotechnology Education is a National Science Foundation (NSF) Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Center at North Seattle College. SHINE provides scholarships on a quarterly basis to North Seattle College Nanotechnology Program students in the amount of $500 per eligible course (see eligible courses below). These scholarships are designed to help students complete the Nanotechnology Program at North Seattle College. The funds can be used to pay for things like: tuition, books, transportation costs, and childcare.
2016-2017 SHINE Nanotechnology Scholarship InformationEligible courses for the SHINE Nanotechnology Scholarship: NANO 101; NANO 220; NANO 230; NANO 250; MSC 101; CWE 110; Other (with instructor approval)
Winter 2017 deadline: February 20, 2017 Spring 2017 deadline: May 22, 2017 Summer 2017 deadline (EXTENDED): August 5, 2017 Fall 2017 deadline: November 6, 2017 Declare Nanotechnology Program major with the North Seattle College Registrar Due by 6th week of quarter (if not already declared) Minimum 3.0 GPA in course which scholarship was requested Meet with SHINE staff once per quarter to discuss program and internship goals *Students must currently be enrolled in at least one of the above courses to be eligible for the scholarship. Scholarship priority will be given to underrepresented populations, women, and students expressing financial need. Scholarships will be disbursed upon completion of the course and the above eligibility requirements. Scholarship amounts and deadlines are subject to change.
