One component of the SHINE project is to lead annual 3-day summer Train the NanoTrainer workshops for regional high school and community college educators. In the past, workshop participants have rated the industry panel portion of the workshop very positively.
New nanotechnology educational modules will be developed for the Train the NanoTrainer workshops. These new activities will be developed as a collaborative effort between NSCC faculty and Industry and academic partners who are experts in their field. Although each workshop will provide an overview of nanotechnology topics, each summer, a different subsection of nanotechnology will be featured with a new educational module, including: Solar Energy; BioNanotechnology; and Electronics / Photonics.
