The Nanotechnology Lab at North Seattle Community College is an integral part of SHINE and the NSCC Nanotechnology program. The wide variety of instruments housed in the lab characterize and fabricate nanomaterials and are used to train future technicians for the nanotechnology workforce. NSCC Nanotechnology students receive hands-on training to operate each instrument.
This January we're offering a fun, three-part class using our scanning electron microscopes! Science meets art in this fascinating class as you learn to photograph with a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)! You will look at insects and flowers with incredible magnification and see what the “really small” really looks like. You will leave with a laminated 8.5” x 11” black and white laminated SEM photograph. Visit North Seattle Community College Continuing Education for more information and to register. Class will run Tuesdays from 6:30pm–8:30pm Jan 14–Jan 28 (3 sessions) and requires no prior experience with scanning electron microscopes. If you are looking for training to use a scanning electron microscope, please contact Peter Kazarinoff to discuss training opportunities.
