Center on Materials and Devices for Information Technology Research PDF Print E-mail

The Center on Materials and Devices for Information Technology Research is concerned with creating new organic materials that can be used in organic electronics, telecommunications, photovoltaics and imaging. One vital area of research is chip-scale integration of these new organic materials into devices with higher speed, lower energy requirements using nano-scale light guides and rings. Another area involves the nanoscale engineering of interfaces to maximize charge transfer and control electro-chemical processes. The STC provides an environment in which interdisciplinary teams (including chemistry, physics, EE and materials science) approach problems using theory, synthesis and characterization, all the way up to device fabrication and testing.
