8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Day 3: Friday, July 18th

8:00 AM to 3:30 PM


Nanotechnology is an emerging and interdisciplinary field changing the world. The principles of nanotechnology can be integrated into lessons already being taught in the classroom. SHINE offers high school and community college educators the ability to learn how to bring nanotechnology lessons and hands-on experiences into their curriculum during our annual three day summer workshop.


Workshop includes:

  • Hands-on experience with nanotechnology labs and demonstrations
  • Labs aligned with WA, ID, and OR state learning requirements
  • Knowledge of nanotechnology applications
  • Nanotechnology industry and student panel
  • Nanotechnology Lab tours

SHINE works with participants to ease curriculum into classrooms :

  • Providing lab materials and supplies
  • Classroom follow up 
  • Working with educators on other areas of integration based on their curriculum needs
